How To Get Hayden Panettiere Makeup

Professional make-up artist Philippa Louise gives a clear step-by-step guide on how to achieve the Hayden Panettiere look from the 2011 Oscars, whilst demonstrating the makeover on a model.

Today, I'm going to be showing you how to achieve the Hayden Panettiere look form the 2011 Oscars. It's all about having a fresh dewy flawless base, some very, very neutral eyes and then concentrating on the lips by using a really, really strong bold colour. Step 1 is all about having the flawless natural dewy base.

Now, it's really important to make sure that you prep and prime your skin before the foundation goes on, this will enable your foundation to sit well, but most importantly to last all night long. So, now, I'm just putting the foundation on, putting small amounts all over the face, and just building it up really, really naturally and then what you can do, you can also then buff it into the skin, this is really, really going to achieve that flawless look, really buffing the product in. To finish off the flawless face, we're going to make sure we can seal under the eyes, using a corrector to neutralise any blue tones and then a concealer to then brighten up the area don't forget the inner corners as well - that's where some people tend to get quite blue, and you can always blend it with your finger afterwards.

We're now going to set the make-up by just using some translucent powder and dusting it all over the face, you don't need very much at all. Step 2 is how to get the natural eye make-up, just dust a very, very neutral colour all over the lid, this is going to give you a nice base to build the rest of the make-up. Now, we're going to keep the eyes really, really simple, so we're just going to dust a very, very neutral colour on.

That's got its metallic pigments in as well to really brighten the eye up, you don't want very much, very, very small amounts, and if you want to add definition to the eye, you can also contour the crease line just to add a bit more depth to the socket. Don't forget it's really important to blend here, and we're just going to finish the eyes off just by highlighting that brow bone, so it really stands out. To finish the eye make-up off, just pop a little bit of shimmer in the inner corners of the eyes, pop some mascara on, and then a little bit of cream eyeliner in the water line.

Step 3 is to warm the skin up by just using some bronzer and dusting over the forehead, the nose, the cheeks, the chin and the neck area, just the natural areas where the sun hits the face. You can really sculpt the face that way as well. Step 4 is all about the blusher, we're just going to pop a little bit of blusher onto the cheek bones to really give that lovely, natural, healthy glow, and then finish that off with a bit of highlighter as well on the cheek bones to really help them stand out.

Step 5 is all about the luscious lip. We saw Hayden Panettiere wear a beautiful red lipstick at the 2011 Oscars, so what we're going to do is we're going to bring that to our focal point, just neutralise the lips by putting some foundation all over. This will enable you to get a really lovely base for the lipstick.

Now, in order to get the intensity of this lovely red lip, we're going to line the lips first just to get the shape and to get that lovely colour. Now, I always like to start with the cupid's bow, the reason why is you can really get that shape and then build on it. Once you've lined your lips and got that lovely shape, then you can just fill in the lips with the lip liner, this also helps the lipstick stay on as well - there's a little tip for you - and don't worry if the lips are dry because we want that nice matte look, anyway.

Don't worry if you make any mistakes with your lip liner, you can just go in and correct it just with a bit of concealer, it's pretty easy, will take a cotton swab and some make-up remover. So, in order to finish this look off on the lips, we want to add some lipstick on top, we're using the MAC Russian red lip colour, and literally, just fill the lip in on top of that lip liner. And then to finish it off, if you want to really achieve that matte look which
