How To Get Movie Star Hair

Styling expert Tatiana explains three simple but stunning looks to try that are sure to make you stand out. Learn to achieve movie star waves, a side plait, and a messy bun in only five minutes.

In this video, I would like to show you how to do movie star hair. We already curled our model's hair using the wide barrel curling baton. It's a very, very good tool when you would like to achieve very nice big waves in your hair.

I would say, when you wash your hair and dry it, just apply a little bit of curl enhancing cream on your hair and then it will basically help the curls to stay during all activities you do. So, it's a very simple tool, it's very easy to do at home. Take the section of your hair and wrap it around the barrel just like that and you have to hold it for about 10 seconds.

Then, just gently release the section and you've got a curly strand. Then, using the tail of the tail comb, just gently, lightly separate the curls to create more volume on it, just all the way around. And the last step would be to spray it with a hairspray.

You can do a bit more or a bit less depending on the weather and how far away the party is. If it's in a couple of hours, just make sure you spray a bit more so the hairstyle stays. And that's our first style which is just very big waves and a lot of volume.

And the second style will be a side plait, so we're using our beautiful base, the big waves, for that style, and we'll be lifting the side, the right hand side, to expose the shoulder and it will be beautiful if you're wearing something here which is, if it's a dress without sort of a strap here, or nice long earrings. So, we will have to section the hair in three, and don't make it very neat, just make it very loose, a plait or a twist, or you can just lift it up and pin. We'll just do a sort of nice, loose plait.

And then, we can finish it with just wrapping a strand of your own hair around the end of the plait and clipping it up, which could be a nice, sparkly clip or any great little pin if you would like to disguise the attachment. And again, just work on the curls, just make sure they're all separated, not sticking together. And this is our second style.

It's loose hair with a side plait. And the third style we're going to do will be a nice, loose bun. For this style, we also need wavy hair, so it will be a perfect base if you curl your hair before and then do a loose bun on the hair.

So, you just section the hair in two and you twist a section around just like that. Don't make it too tight, because that's the idea of this style, just to make it loose with a lot of little strands of hair on the neck and on the sides, which you can just fix with a bit of hair gel afterwards. I'm going to use a couple of very strong pins since our model has got a lot of hair, and just pinning it into the hair in a few different places to fix this bun in place and to make sure it stays for the whole night.

And this is our third style, a loose bun. And that was how to do movie star hair. .
