How To Get National Dex

In this video, I'm going to tell you how get the National Dex. What is a National Dex? Well, in the game, there is an item called the Pokedex which helps log what Pokemon you see and catch. Each game has his own Regional Dex but the National Dex contains all Pokemon.

Now, each Regional Dex round about 150 to 200 Pokemon, depending on the game and the region. On screen, at the moment, is the Innova regional Dex, contains a 106 Pokemon. Now, the National Dex however contains a lot more than that.

Currently, there are 649 Pokemon available in the National Dex, as you can see, it's a very large number. So, the National Dex actually upgrades you in game Pokedex to allow you to see and capture any Pokemon, not just those available to your local Regional Dex. Now, how do you get it? Well, it can't be simpler.

In most games, simply defeating the Elite Four will get your Pokemon professor in game to upgrade your Dex to the National Dex. However, in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, the way to do it is you need to see all of the 150 Pokemon from the Regional Dex. This will be easy if you battle every trainer across the land.

So, the National Dex, it upgrades your Regional Dex from its 150 to 200 approximate number to the maximum amount of Pokemon that is available at the time. Currently, that's 649. The way to get it, simply defeat the Elite Four unless you're playing Diamond, Pearl, Platinum.

In which case, just make sure you've seen every Pokemon available, all of the 150. And that's how to get the National Dex. .
