How To Get Popular On YouTube

Danny Bermant from Brainstorm Design gives you tips on making your YouTube videos more popular, making a point that the audience involvement is the key thing.

In this video, I'm going to talk about how to be popular on YouTube. Now, you may have come up with a really great video or a really great concept, but how do you get that audience to grow, how do you get people coming back and watching you again, and telling their friends about it? Now, one of the ways to do that is to make sure you have lots and lots of sticky content which means that if you have a website where you have a video, do a series of videos. So, for example, you may be doing cookery master class, what you do is release a video, share that on your webpage and then, what you do is you then say at the end of your video, ?And that's what we've done this week.

Next week, I'm going to talk about how to make sushi, or next week I'm going to talk on how to bake a perfect cake?, so the people that have seen your video, they're going to come back to your website again in the following weeks to see the next installation. So, yes, if you have a series which you can then put on YouTube and then release in stages, you can then share that on your website or your blog or Facebook or any other place where you can share videos. The other thing you can do is get as much user generated content as possible.

Now, user generated content is when you put a video on and then you invite people to comment. For example, you may be a bit of a performer, you like doing acrobatics and you might do a series of somersaults and you want your audience to actually rate which video is their favourite. Or you may be a comedian, and you may make a number of jokes, each video you make a joke, and you can invite your audience to say which was the funniest.

The more feedback you can get from your audience, the more interaction you can get, the more your audience will grow, because there's nothing people love more than the person that is presenting, talking to you and inviting you to what they are saying. So, the basic rules are have engaging content, have a series of videos so people will be coming back for more, and above all, invite people to respond to what you've published so you can actually start building a relationship with your audience. And that's how to get popular on YouTube. .
