How to get pregnant with PCOS. PCOS simply stands for polycystic ovary syndrome and it is what it says it is. The word poly meaning many.
Many cysts on your ovaries.
What PCOS does is causes a woman to have many small immature follicles. These are the follicles that eggs are produced from, but because they don't grow to maturity, eggs are rarely produced.
Therefore, PCOS can lead to infertility.
There's not a lot that you can do for that, but there are some studies that show that losing weight, which can be a symptom of PCOS, helps increase your fertility by lowering the male hormone. However, the best thing to do is to go and see your GP in the first instance.
It may be that you simply just need to have lots of sex, and hope that you do ovulate and therefore get pregnant.
The next step is to have some blood tests done which might confirm the PCOS, and perhaps you might need some form of medication, for example, Clomid. That should help stimulate ovulation and therefore increase your chances of pregnancy.
But PCOS is something that you definitely need to take medical advice over when looking to conceive a child. So it may well lower your fertility rates, but that doesn't mean that you won't get pregnant with PCOS. And so that is how you get pregnant and conceive with PCOS.
