The GP teaches you the whys and hows of getting rid of skin tags using do-it-yourself, freezing and cutting methods.
I am here to talk to you about how to get rid of skin tags. Skin tags are basically very small, loose bits of skin. They are not pigmented.
There is also a bit of pain because they are caught in the clothing, or they can get irritated when you are shaving. They often occur around the neck or chest area. They tend to get more as a person gets older.
And there is a genetic disposition to it as well. If you have members of the family who got skin tags, you are more likely to get them as well. There are very different ways of getting rid of them.
They are very, very small and if you are very brave, you can actually nip them off. It can be a bit painful and you bleed a little; and scab over but if you always use clean methods, technically, you should be fine. However, this is an unconventional way of doing things.
You may probably want to see someone about freezing it off or cutting it off. Freeze it off using liquid nitrogen. There is a little burning sensation, not that painful at all and the scab just comes off.
If you have flesh here or skin types, with a bit of anaesthetic, you can cut it out- depending on where they are on the body, with one or two stitches - and they are out after seven days. This would not prevent the skin tag from recurring elsewhere on the body but that gets rid of the skin tag. So if you are not sure how to get rid of skin tags, I hope that you are clearer now.|.
