Learn tips from an expert on how to avoid getting blackheads and the best products to do so.
I'm here today to talk to you about how to get rid of blackheads. Normally, they're associated with combination skin or oily skin, so they form because you get a plug of oil in the pore and that's how you get the blackhead.
So, unfortunately with the blackheads, that does make you prone to having spots. The best way is to cleanse regularly, preferably use an exfoliating gel wash, such an azelaic scrub used by SeSDERMA - I find that works very well - or an aloe vera based exfoliating gel wash, such as one made by Forever Living, and to do that every day if you can. You need to tone - use a very good toner that closes up the pores such as an aloe vera based one, and then moisturise using a non-oily moisturiser.
Generally speaking, any cleansers or moisturisers with alpha hydroxy acid, or salicylic acid, or azelaic acid - those are very good at taking away dead skin layers and the dirt and grime that collects over the day, and to clear the pores. Neostrata do a very good gel called The Oil Control Gel, which again reduces the amount of oil produced by the skin and reduces the amount of pores blocked. The only one thing I forgot to say is that if you do want to squeeze your blackheads - which technically you shouldn't without a proper blackhead remover - the best time to do it is just after a hot bath or shower when the pores are much more open.
Please use short fingernails because otherwise, you will get a spot there. So I hope that's been useful and thank you very much for listening to me.
