How To Get Rid Of Loose Skin
Emma Thompson, from France's largest organically certified company Melvita, shows you how to get rid of loose skin using Chlorella and body brushing.
Hello, my name's Emma Thompson, I'm an independent beauty expert working with Melvita, France's largest organically certified brand. And today, we're going to be looking at how to get rid of loose skin and to improve the skin texture and firmness. What's really important when you think about this is focusing on key areas of the body, where the skin becomes looser and the reason we've chosen the legs today, that this is an area that often suffers quite a lot from lack of circulation, and often lack of circulation's what causes the skin to loose its tone.
The most important thing you can do is apply, is use body brushing and this is something you really do need to do everyday, it may look a little bit painful applying a brush, but I'm going to give you a technique which is going to make you think “this is never going to hurt me.” Okay. The first thing to do is to always think about working towards the heart, the reason we do this is the lymphatic system works that way, so what we want to do is work with the lymphatic system and encourage the detoxification process which will give us firmer skin.
Okay, so I'm going to start from the feet and I always work upwards on the feet, just work across the feet, make sure that you follow your hand, hand follows the body brushing and the reason I do this, is that the skin, you just don't feel it as much, it's a much softer way of doing that, you can do it really very gently, you don't need to do vigorous brushing. You can do this before or after you shower, but the key thing is to apply the brush to dry skin rather than wet skin. Okay, so this, I'm now finished with the body brushing.
I'm going to be using a very targeted stretch mark product now on the areas that are most loose and I'm going to be using a product which contains Chlorella, which is a micro algae, it's going to really target those very dry loose skin. Okay, you don't need much of this product, it's incredibly rich and again, when you apply to loose skin, think about applying the skin, so that it's actually going to be toning, so you can use quite a strong movement here, and you can use that all over the legs, and particularly over the thighs, and as you can see, it's a lovely rich cream which is going to really hydrate the skin. And then on top of that, to give a more of a full body workout, I'm going to be using this body milk, which is fabulous because it also tones the skin at a deeper level, but it's a much lighter product.
So this contains shea nut butter and evening primrose oil, which is very full of essential fatty acids which are going to feed the skin from within and again, whenever you apply body product which you're trying to improve the lymphatics on, very much like the body brushing product as you work, would work towards the heart, and on the back of the legs, you can really get in there and really apply the product. If you just simply apply body lotion in a very gentle way, you really don't get the most out of it. It's a really good idea to give yourself a nice vigorous massage, particularly in the morning.
And that's how you firm loose skin.
