I am here today to talk to you about how to get rid of razor bumps.

They are basically a mild version of ingrown hairs. When they are predisposed to ingrown hairs, you need to have as close a shave as possible. Always, always, always use shaving cream and water as well.

You need to exfoliate regularly, once every two days, and that will help prevent ingrown hairs. Also, you need to, if you can, rather than shaving, wax or use a IPL laser. That will make the hairs grow thinner and avoid the bumpy appearance.

If you are getting lots of razor bumps, the best way, also, if you can, is to let the hair grow through as well and that will get rid of your bumps completely. To minimize them if you do have to shave, you need to moisturize very regularly to get rid of the dry skin. This is because when the skin is dry, the hair follicles find it very difficult to push through the skin.

Also, because you are shaving, you are slightly irritating the skin and that makes the skin layer slightly thicker and even more difficult for the hair follicle to push through. That causes the bump. Also, to reduce the inflammation, you can use a moisturizing cream.

I use an aloe vera moisturizing cream made by Forever which is very good and also reduces the inflammation. The aloe vera itself will reduce the inflammation. They also do a very good aftershave moisturizing lotion which works as a moisturizer and an aftershave.

It smells quite nice. During summer times, the bumps can become red and a bit sore. If you look closely, there might be small, small pinheads or pustules.

That is called folliculitis. That is when there has been a little bit of bacteria gone into the hair follicles and there is a bit of infection going on there. You do need to use either an antiseptic lotion or an antibiotic cream which your GP can prescribe and that will get rid of it.

If it is very severe or recurrent, then you may need to have some antibiotic tablets to get rid of it. Also, make sure you do not have any underlying immune problems such as diabetes, anemia, or iron deficiency. I hope I have been helpful to you today, in helping you get rid of your razor bumps and thank you for listening.
