How To Get Rid Of Tan Lines
Abigail Oleck, celebrity spray tan specialist, shows you how to quickly, and easily get rid of pesky tan lines - natural or fake - with a sunless tanner overnight.
Hi, my name is Abigail Oleck, and I'm the founder of Beaubronz and spray tanner to the stars, and now I'm going to share with you some top tanning tips. Now, I'm going to show you how to get rid of tan lines. Our lovely model here has actually had a spray tan, and we've got some tan lines here.
The same technique that I'm going to show you could be used if you've been out in the natural sunlight, and you have tan lines in any area. So, maybe it was on a bikini top, or on the side, or on the bottom, wherever it is this is the way to correct it. So basically what I'm going to do first of all, is we know that we've got tan here, and we've got tan there, but this is a tan line.
The first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to take quite a strong self-tan product - what I'm using is an eight percent DHA. DHA is your self-tanning agent, and typically a spray tan is between eight and ten and a half percent, so eight percent is a very rich color. If I wanted to blend in tan lines, the first thing I would do is take this eight percent, and I would use a little finger to mix it, and just go in the area where the tan lines are.
You can see that it is starting to blend for me where the tan lines are. Then you need to pat and blend it around in the other areas where there is already tan as well. So you want to blend it all around, and really pull this up.
So what we're basically doing is we're coloring in where the tan line was, and then on top of that over the whole body, you want to take a one-percent color. Because if you imagine you've got your natural color here, you've got your tan line here, you've put the eight percent on, you're going to let that set for a little while, then you're going to take a one percent DHA product, and you're actually going to put that over the whole body. So that's going to go all over where you've had the natural sun, and all over where you have the tan lines, and you're going to take that all over your entire body.
So if you think what you've done, is you've had your tan lines, you've taken your eight percent color, and you've filled in wherever the lines are, then you're going to let that set, just leave it for about half an hour. Then you're going to take a one percent color which you're then going to put over your entire body. What that's going to do is blend everything in.
The next day when you've slept and you've washed off the fake tan that you've added to fill in your tan lines, you're going to add your one percent again, and that's going to give you a total even body color so any bikini areas are completely filled in. So just a recap, you've got your natural suntan, and you've got your bikini line there. You use a strong DHA on your bikini line marks by your bikini and the straps around where your bikini bottoms have been.
You let that set, then you add a one percent over the whole body, and what you're doing is creating a really even, all-over body tan. .
