How To Get Someones Ip Address
Do you want to find out what your IP address is? In this Videojug tutorial Nikki Moore, technology writer and presenter, shows you how to find out on a Mac and on a Windows PC.
Method
IP stands for internet protocol, and it allows one computer to communicate with another via the internet.
On a Mac: click on the apple menu icon at the top left of your screen and select 'System Preferences' from the drop-down menu.
Click on the 'Network' icon. A new window will open, and under 'status' you IP address will be listed.
On a Windows PC: click the 'Start' menu at the bottom left. In the search box type 'cmd' and press enter.
A black command box will pop up. Type 'ipcomfig' into the black box and press enter.
A lot of information will come up on the screen. Under the 'Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection' heading, the IP address will be on the third line down.
