How To Get That Dramatic Smokey Eye
It can be difficult to learn how to get that perfect dramatic smoky eyes. Sometimes, it's intimidating. However, this video will take you step by step in helping to create the exact look you want in a smoky eye.
I'm going to be using Rimmel London products to show you how to get that dramatic smoky eye. So, I'm going to be using one of the shades from the Glamour Eyes Trio eye shadow set. I'm literally just going to dust that all the way over the eye to the eyebrow bone.
This acts as a really nice highlighter as well, so take it up through the eyebrow bone there. And then, we're going to move onto our Glamour Eyes Quad palette. We've got 4 different colors to choose from, just going to concentrate really on the silver and black shades just to create that really, really, sultry smoky eye.
So, start off by using the light shade and just press that all over the eye lid. Keep it really, really light all over because you'll concentrate the dark color in the contour line in the creases later. What's really great about this product, as well, is you can wet the applicator it comes with and it will just intensify the color.
So, once you've done that silver color all the way over, you're then going to concentrate on going to the darker shade. The one I'm using is the black. Start with very, very little product.
Tap away any excess into the quads you don't use any. So, just start by really working that darker shade into that crease line. Don't go too far down and then work it inwards, and down into the lid almost like you're creating a V, and then what you want to do most importantly for a smoky eye is to make sure you really blend it.
So, just go backwards and forwards. If you're doing this on yourself you can do it exactly, just gently lift your brow bone up and just blend any hard edges outwards. Bring that a little bit further in and blend that black color backwards and forwards over the eyelid.
If you find you've gone too far, don't worry. You can always get a little bit more silver and brush it over. If you're having fallout, just take a brush and just sweep it away.
Okay. So, now, I've concentrated on top of the eye. We're going to move to the bottom of the eye.
We're going to use exactly the same shade which is the black. Once we've got some of the color on the top, let's see, we'll pop a bit of a stronger color on afterwards. Want to make sure you carry that line all the way under as well.
Just follow the natural line of your eye all the way along. If this color isn't intense enough for you, you can actually start by using the eye pencil in jet black. And then, pop some powder on top, that's where you're going to intensify the look.
So, make that really, really smoky all the way along and then just blend it out. Just get that lovely smoky effect under the eye. Don't forget what's great about these eye shadows, as well, is that they're long lasting.
And once you're happy with that smokiness under the eye, eye shadow down there and just pop some foundation over afterwards. That's not a problem. So, before we go back up to the top part of the eye, we're really going to make this eye quite dramatic.
So, we can use the soft coal in the water line. I just need you to look up for me. Apply it quite heavily all the way along.
See any white bits. And then, we're really going to go into that socket line and really intensify that smoky eye. You can bring it up a little bit, just taking that very first color we used in the Glamour Eyes Trio eye shadow, just to go along the brow bone just to blend in to create that smoky effect.
So, what we're going to do now is to- I've chosen to use a pencil eye liner on the top lashes. You can use the liquid liner, as well, but because we're doing a smoky eye, it's really going to give that smoky effect along the lash line. And because this blends beautifully, this pencil, you can really get that smoky effect.
So, literally, just follow the lash line and make sure you blend that at the end as well. So, now, I'm going to use some mascara on her lashes. We're using the day and night mascara and the volume section to really plump up those lashes and get so
