How To Get The Bollywood Sunkissed Look

Bollywood make up expert, Naveeda, shows us how to create the shimmering, sunkissed look. Get glowing…

Step 1: Eyes

Start by applying foundation to the whole of the eyelid, this will give an even base and help keep the eye shadow in place.

Using a large powder brush apply a nude eye shadow over the entire lid.

Follow this up with a light-brown shimmer eye shadow over the same area.

With a narrower brush dab on strong bronzy-gold eye shadow powder to the lower section of the lid.

Sweep a dark brown eye shadow into the contour crease of the eye, wing it out slightly, then take it back in along the lash line and shade the outer corner of the lid. This gives the eyes depth and shape. Soften the edges with a blending brush.

Use a light coloured bronze shimmer powder to highlight the brow bone.

Naveeda is using a dark brown powder applied with an angled brush as an eyeliner instead of a heavy pencil or liquid one - this is because any strong or hard lines will ruin the light, sunkissed effect. Wing the eyeliner out slightly beyond the eye.

Clean up any fallen eye shadow on the face with a facial wipe. It's for this reason we begin with the eyes, before moving on to the rest of the face.

Fill in the eyebrows with an angled brush and dark brown eyebrow powder. Comb through with an eyebrow gel to keep them in place. Coat the top eyelashes with mascara, drawing the wand from root to tip.

Step 2: The Face

Apply foundation with a foundation brush to get good even, light coverage. Naveeda's Top makeup tip is to always use good quality brushes to achieve a professional finish. Blend the foundation down the neck to avoid a 'tide mark' on the jaw line. If you have any minor imperfections or spots now is the time to cover them with concealer, stroke on with a small brush for accuracy then blend with your finger.

Dust loose, translucent powder over the entire face using a large powder brush. This eliminates too much shine and 'sets the foundation.

Step 3: The Lower Lashes

Use the same dark brown eye shadow as before to line the lower lashes. Finish off with a slick of mascara.

Step 4: Blusher

Apply a warm toned blusher just to the apples of the cheeks. To get that glamorous sunkissed glow brush on a bronze shimmer to highlight the cheek bones

Step 5: Lips

With your finger tips dab a little foundation to the lips, this will keep the lipstick on for longer, and provide an even base.

Line the lips with a nude lip liner, the colour should perfectly match your lips natural colour. Finish the look with high-shine gold gloss.
