How To Get The Rock Chick Look
Celebrity make-up artist Daniel Sandler shows you how to get the rock chick, 'just got out of bed' look. This is makeup with an attitude, so watch VideoJug's guide to doing the rock chick look and get it right.
Step 1: You will need
Step 2: Eye shadow
This look is 'make-up with attitude' where you can break all the rules. You don't need make-up brushes or foundation. Rub matte eye shadow across your eyelids and in the centre of your lower lash line with your fingers. Build up an uneven texture and blend with your fingers. Stand back from the mirror and stop applying the shadow once you've achieved a sultry and sexy look.
Step 3: Eye liner
Use a soft eye pencil and draw a juddery line along the lower lashes. Add a little more to the outer edges of each eye. Draw a thicker line along the upper lashes and smudge with your finger. Add grey eye shadow on top of the black eyeliner to set the make-up. Use a soft brush to remove any bits of make-up that have fallen onto your face.
Step 4: Shimmer
Apply shimmery eye shadow to the inner corners of your eyes below the lash line, and onto the eyelids.
Step 5: Mascara
Curl your eyelashes before applying mascara. Use a lengthening, volumising mascara in black. Apply with the tip of the wand where there is an excess build up of mascara and apply loads of layers for a dramatic look.
Clean up any make-up below the eye that shouldn't be there and apply under-eye concealer. Finish the look off with a clear lip gloss.
Tips & Comments
This was a great tutorial, just an odd way of applying mascara, I think. My everyday look is quite similar to this because I like to give off that bold, edgy persona...when I apply mascara what I tend to do is just do three layers of mascara on each eye (applying it the normal way) and then take a SECOND brand of mascara and doing the same over top. This makes your eyelashes HUGE and BOLD and THICK and DARK. They look quite fake, so if you ever want to save time and not bother with the fake lashes or something, just build up on mascaras. Only two are necessary, just alternate if you want even more oompf. Other than the whole mascara thing, I totally love this-- it's great because it actually fits the rocker chick look. Looking like a rock chick is about simply looking like you rolled out of bed sometime in the afternoon because you got home in the AM after a night of HEAVY FUN. And I think that this gorgeous model and talented makeup artist definitely showed the world how to pull it off...without the whole hangover and wasted day things. =).

This IS a rock chick look girlies. Stop your negative comments. Srsly. Dark smokey eyes with barely there lip gloss, the glitter adds the perfect detail to it. It's about looking like you just woke up from hard night and threw a bit of touch up makeup on before running out for another party. For those who have an issue with glitter and mixing different textures of shadow - you should go check out the all natural matte look. You've clearly come to the wrong video! & This pumping of the mascara.. Wow. That secret was leaked by Cindy Crawford on Oprah back when I was 11. LoL
