How To Get The Soft Goth Look
Celebrity make-up artist Daniel Sandler shows you how to do the 'soft goth' look, as made popular by the Olsen twins, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Alexa Chung.
How to get the soft goth look
Apply a medium coverage fluid foundation all over the face with a damp brush to create a light, sheer cover.
Next use an illuminating concealer under the eyes and around the lip edge to create a flawless complexion.
Finish the base and set the make-up in place with translucent powder.
For the soft goth look, try eyeshadows in plum, pinks or soft greys. Apply the eyeshadow with a finger for a soft, pretty finish.
Apply the same colour under each eye with a thin brush, and then smudge the colour for a bruised look.
Next, apply a shimmery pink eyeshadow over the centre of each lid and just under the brow bone. Apply the shimmer underneath the eye, being careful not to mask the eyeshadow that's already there.
Apply plenty of black mascara to really open up the eyes.
Cheek colour should be neutral to complement the rest of the look, so try a light shimmery highlighter along the highest part of the cheekbone. Use silver shimmer for fair skin and gold shimmer for warmer skin tones.
Finish the look with dark lipstick or lip gloss. Try a purple lipstick which can be applied with a brush or finger, blot with a tissue and apply a second layer for a long lasting effect.
