Want to stay looking young and in shape longer in your life? Nick Mitchell explains how you can achieve that and how working in the gym, lifting weights will not turn women into men, but rather make them look younger as well as give to them, men and women, more energy.

Hi, my name is Nick Mitchell. I am the owner of Ultimate Performance Personal Training area in London. Today, I am going to talk about how to build muscle.

We are going to look at various different topics and cover everything that we can, to help get you the muscle mass, the muscle development that you want and to give all the little tricks of the trade that helps make this personal business here, the best in the business. Today, we are going to talk about getting toned muscles. What you must understand, there is no difference between a toned muscle and a developed muscle.

I think, I have never heard of a man coming in and say “I want toned muscles.” Men come and say “I want more developed muscles,” but women don't like to talk about developing muscles because they think all of a sudden, they are going to come in lifting weights and turn into Conan. If it was that easy, there would be a lot more guys looking like Conan.

It is not easy. A toned muscle is basically a trained muscle. So how do you develop a trained muscle? You know the answer, you probably don't need me to tell you.

You go to the gym, 3 of 4 times a week, you do not waste your time on the treadmill, on a stepper, on an elliptical machine, or doing cardio fit and body combat, whatever is flavor du jour. You come into the gym, and you lift weights. If you are a woman and you are watching this and you think, “The weights are going to turn me into a man,” it is not going to happen.

You do not have the hormonal profile. If it was so easy to develop muscle, all of the men who you know go to the gym, would have huge muscles. But how many men do you know who really have huge muscles? Very very few.

So, getting toned muscles is pretty simple, you eat correctly, you eat protein, okay? If you are a woman, you eat protein, you do not just eat fruit or something like that which is a female, bad habit of females who think they are eating healthily. You eat protein, you eat essential good fats, and you go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and you bust your ass in the gym lifting weights. Nobody developed muscle by accident, it does not happen.

By coming in and lifting weights, you are not going to all of a sudden turn into a man. But you will develop toned muscles and toned muscles will give shape, they will lift your body in places that you want to lift it, and it will keep you looking younger, give you a vitality that nothing else can give you. That is the best way for me to get toned muscles. .
