Two things: 1. meeting a woman, the man should not offer to shake hands but must wait for the woman to take the initiative; 2. when someone you dislike offers the palm down position trying to dominate, pretend you haven't noticed and put your hand on top of the back of theirs. You will have diffused and disorientated them!
