I am here to tell you about hand massage and how the benefits of hand massage are, and some simple techniques that you can use if you want to do this at home. Now, hand massage is actually a non-invasive therapy of applying simple pressure to different aspects of the hand, the fingers and also the arm. There are many benefits.
This is something that you can do if you simply want to de-stress, if you want to relax. If you want to stimulate the skin. It is very very good to improve circulation.
It really gets the blood flowing as well. So, it is also good for all those who sit behind the desk all day, typing away and they never really get the chance to excercise their fingers and their hands. Another really good thing about hand massage is if you actually use oil, you are able to push the oil into the skin and this again is very nurturing and very nourishing to the body.
So, I am just going to show you a few simple techniques now. So, first of all, I am using a nice cooling oil, actually. One of our oil blends.
Just bare with me. I am just going to take a little bit of oil. You do not need too much.
Just about 10 ml of oil is fine. I just heated up some cooling oil in my hands and I am simply going to apply it over the arm and then down into the hand and over the fingers. Now, this is great for the skin.
This really leaves the skin glowing. It allows the oil to actually penetrate into the skin and work at a deeper level. So, it is also nourishing from the inside.
And then, I am going to show you some very very simple techniques. One of the nicest things you can do with the hand massage is actually push the oil into each of the joints. So, push the oil into each of the joints.
Move the joints around and then just do a little stretch. If you do that for each of the fingers, you will find that improves the circulation in the fingers and it also improves texture and tone. So, it just moves everything around and improves texture and tone.
Another really nice technique is to actually do finger circles into the palm. So, again, this improves circulation and it also allows the blood to flow better which allows the body to relax. So, once the nervous system, once everything is flowing better, you will find that you relax a lot easier as well.
And just one last technique I will show you is actually a form of ringing to the arm, which really de-stresses the arm, so anyone who does do a lot computer work or has to physicaly use their arms quite a lot, this is quite a nice technique to have delivered on them. Now, if you just let the arm to rest at the side and you bring both your thumbs into each other, you get this lovely ringing technique and you can apply direct pressure, bringing the muscles and the tissues into each other, and is actually the pressure that alows the body to de-stress. You can also do it in the lower part of the arm and then again, just push the oil in and just let the energy flow.
