How To Give A Knee Massage
Learn the ways you should massage your knee and the massages you need to relax your muscles around the knee.
Today we are going to show you how to do a knee massage. So we have you inclined lying face-up. First of all its really important to have a pillow, a towel or a bolster as I have here today underneath the knee so the knee is slightly bent because we don't want the leg to be hyper-extending putting extra pressure and all the ligaments and joints are turning , so always have it slightly bent.
As you would in any other part of the body starting with some general sweeping techniques. What we want to do is we want to focus on the quads. The quad muscles are all attaching down here at the knee so we want to do some just general releasing of tension.
Focusing needing where you are feeling tension from knuckles just watching your posture just slowly and you're just repeating whatever strokes you and your client feel comfortable with along the quads attaching on either side of the knee so you are going to do a lot of gentle needing. You might want to spend a minute on either side just generally releasing tension, gentle rocking. Checking in with your client, Is that alright? Okay.
You might want to do this for perhaps even three to five minutes to get the best results and you might want to come a cut to the quads making sure your moving fluidal. And then you would turn your client over and would work on the hamstrings, a lot of hamstrings, the back of the thigh or connect back down here, a lot of the work you were doing here is for the hamstring so you would turn your client over and would work on the hamstrings and perhaps a little of the calf as well. Always going lightly as you're going under the attachments there and that's how you would do a knee massage.
