Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • salt
  • pepper

Method

Make sure your eggs are at room temperature. Eggs taken straight from the fridge will crack in a hot pan.

Fill the pan with cold water, so it is around a centimetre above the top of the eggs, and place on the hob. When the water gets to simmering temperature, set your timer to 6 minutes for eggs with a slightly soft yolk and 7 to 8 minutes for a harder yolk.

Once cooked, remove the eggs from the pan and run under cold water for 1 minute. Then transfer the eggs to a bowl of cold water to cool them down. Once they have cooled, peel off the shell, rinsing them in water to remove any trace of the shell.
