How To Have A Romantic Picnic

Spice up your love life by surrounding yourself with the romance and harmony of nature, and take your partner on a romantic picnic.

Step 1: Location

Nature's beauty is manifold. From the delicate artistry of an English field to the dark magnificence of an ancient forest, to the litter flecked majesty of a verge of a car park…. there's a surprising amount of unspoilt nature left for you to enjoy. Find a secluded, private place, where you're certain you can be alone. Nothing spoils a picnic for 2 like other picnickers. Stay away from areas with marauding animals, aggressive insects, or ramblers' rights of way.

Step 2: Picnic essentials

Getting close to nature doesn't mean setting up a home from home. So avoid fancy crockery and food that needs carving, filleting or cooking - that's called a barbeque. Keep it simple with finger food that is easy to eat such as French bread, pate, cheese, fruit and chocolate. Wine is an elegant, romantic drink for a picnic, but don't be so minimalist that you forget a corkscrew.

Step 3: Activities

Now you have eaten, it's time to while away the afternoon. Here are some ideas: walking, chatting, gathering acorns, comparing leaves, smelling flowers, watching bark, admiring butterflies, climbing trees, showing off about how well you climbed those trees, digging up roots, truffling, chasing away the wasps, playing hide and seek, kissing, cuddling, and being in love.
But there are some things you should never do at a picnic, such as: arguing, sulking, littering, defecating without digging a hole, hunting rabbits, hunting squirrels, shouting at owls, eating the last piece of chocolate, sending emails, or exposing yourself.
