How To Have Hair Like Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba's hair is soft and sexy. Golden, honey highlights accentuate her signature waves. But you don't need to one of the Jessica Alba's hair is soft and sexy. Golden, honey highlights accentuate her signature waves. But you don't need to one of the "Fantastic Four" to get this look. Stylists from the famous Cristophe Salon in Beverly Hills show you how to be a "Dark Angel" and have hair like Jessica Alba.

Step 1: The Color

Golden, honey highlights accentuate Jessica Alba's signature waves. It's the combination of colors in her hair that make it so striking. If your hair is light to medium brown, you're the perfect candidate for Jessica Alba's color. A few highlights from the salon or a home kit is all you'll need. If your hair's dark brown, you'll need to lighten your base color, then add highlights. For this type of dual-process coloring, it's best to see a professional colorist. Ask your colorist for warm, golden brown or chestnut base, honey highlights and a few bright pieces around your face.

Step 2: The Shine

Ask your colorist to apply a gloss so your hair shines like a star. The gloss not only creates luminous locks, it also protects your highlights.

Step 3: The Cut

Long layers are the key to this cut. Layering hair creates movement in the hair and that helps you look good whether you're hitting the red carpet or the grocery store. Expert stylists at Cristophe Beverly Hills recommend regular trims every two to three months.

Step 4: The Style

To style your hair like Jessica Alba, hold the blow dryer above your head with the nozzle angled downward, and gently twist your hair away from your face. Tousle your hair to remove excess water. This technique works for women blessed with thick, wavy hair like Jessica Alba, as well as those with thin, fine hair. Of course if your hair is fine, you'll want to use a product to create volume, like a mousse. Once you've removed the excess water from your hair, begin to style with a medium-sized round brush. The goal is to smooth the hair, while maintaining or creating a bit of curl. Take your brush and lift a section of hair away from the scalp. Then roll the hair around the brush, away from your face. Apply heat with blow dryer as you wrap the hair around the brush. Allow the hair to cool for a few seconds, then unwrap the brush. Continue this process, section by section, until your hair is completely dry.

Step 5: The Curl

To create Jessica Alba's gorgeous, face-framing curls, you'll need a curling iron with a big barrel. Begin by sectioning your hair to make it easier to work with. Clip the remainder of your hair out of the way. Mist your hair with hairspray before curling. Hold your curling iron vertically, at a slight angle. Curl the hair away from your face. Do not roll the ends of your hair into the barrel; this creates a curl that's not natural-looking and definitely not like Jessica Alba. Hold your hair in the curling iron for at least forty-five to sixty seconds. Continue to curl your hair until you achieve that Jessica Alba look.

Step 6: The Final Touch

Gently run your fingers through your hair to break the ringlets into softer curls.
