Hi, my name is John Webb. I've been a badminton coach for over 15 years and I'm going to show you some tips on how to play badminton. Alright, I'm going to tell you how to play the perfect badminton shot.

A net shot is an underarm shot where you contact the shuttle as near as possible to the net and the shuttle just bounces off and just lands just right on the other opponent's court. The idea is you can try and hit a winner and give your opponent very little time to play the shot. Usually, you play at net shot more often in singles and you'll be playing it to move the opponent around and you want to put it just in the corners, that side or that side and it just sort of tumbles over the net.

Let me just show you how to play this net shot. It's called a net shot, it's also called a tumble shot. So, you start with the racket up, it's coming and the racket or dominant foot will move in and you bend the knee and the racket wants to be pointing straight out so you're catching it nice and high right by the net.

The shuttle just tumbles over and just goes over to the other side. So it's a net shot, you're playing right there, and it's the best if it just hits the tape and goes over. Sometimes, that can be an unplayable shot to return but just want it to just go over to this side of the court.

So let me just demonstrate that again forehand and backhand. So you're receiving stance, you're going, you're in the racket foot and it's just going there, and on the backhand side, you're just turning the leg, the racket leg comes over and you take it as high as possible and as near to the net as possible so it just tumbles over. It's a very good attacking shot and as I said, really played a lot in singles.

It can play in doubles as well. Hopefully, that's given you a bit of a guide of an insight in to playing a forehand and backhand net shot. .
