In this video, I am going to talk about how to hold your breath for longer. Essentially, this will of use to swimmers and so, we are going to do one exercise from a gym perspective and then, I am going to be talking through another exercise that you can do at the swimming pool, and a fine extra bit of equipment you can do at home quite happily. The first exercise is going to focus on core stability.
That way, it's going to be work on your posture and making sure your airway goes open and as large as possible. Very simply, any simple kind of weight exercise well suits on this big challenge. In this particular case, just sitting on a boat, put your hands up to 90 degrees, okay, and then just take one leg out straight.
Any exercise that challenges the balance will mean that went up, sitting up nice and upright and then for opening your airways, whilst doing this exercise, very, very simply, just keep your stomach ducted if you want to get on the easy rubes of holding a breath for few seconds and then relaxing, you can do, but there is also breathing in nice and consistent, whilst doing the actual exercise is your airways are nice and open. The second exercise - what will you do in the swimming pool? First, simply doing on strokes, so if we focus on the front cross, change your breathing so you might breathe at the other stroke and you might breathe at the fourth stroke, you might breathe at the eighth stroke, challenge yourself whilst swimming, make sure you're tailing at the same time as the actual swimming, that's why the bubbles then come out of your mouth, you are changing your exercise routine from aerobic when you use oxygen to anaerobic when you are not. You're starving a plenty of oxygen or starving a massive of oxygen and see your body working more efficiently whilst it's going to have your oxygen present.
All these days of exercises will surely help you to hold your breath for longer. The final exercise is using what we call a power brake, it's very simple and it's basically a lung workout. All it does is you breathe in and out a bit and it reduces the amount of oxygen that your body can take if you're just not using the move, breathe, you are then forced to take a bigger deeper breath for less oxygen, you can change resistance of the intake of your act and it's a great workout for your lungs.
All fitness is, all about your muscles is actually work from your lungs yet your lungs might take in more oxygen, your heart might beat a few more times but your lungs are equally as important to make that nice and strong. This will revise here. It's fantastic.
It only takes 20 breaths every evening before you get sleep and it really helps your airways, well, get larger and also it should be a lot stronger. Those three simple tips will help you to hold your breath for longer.
