How To Hook Up A Wireless Router
In this video, you will learn how to hook up an internet connection with your wireless router to enable multiple devices in your home or office to connect to the internet. You will go through a step-by-step process of connecting cables from the wall all the way through to the wireless router itself.
To hook an internet connection in the house, you will need to set up a wireless router, and I'm going to show you how to do it. This is a typical wireless router which, in our case, is supplied by B.T.
It has got a set of ports at the back which we're going to need later. Also in the box, you get all these cables which you need to connect the wireless router. First, we will start off plugging in a micro filter which goes into one of the available power phone sockets in the wall in your house.
You plug it in until it clicks. Then, we take a telephone cable, which again is supplied in the box. It looks like this, and we plug one end into the micro filter.
We just plug it in until it clicks. Both ends are identical. And the other end goes into the router in the port where it's marked land line, or the phone.
You plug it in until it clicks. That's it. Now, we take a power cable, which again is supplied and plug it into the power socket, and the other end goes into the router.
That's it. We're done. Now, we have to wait for the lights to come on.
We can see the power light is flashing which means the power is on, and for the ordinary router, it takes about 2 minutes to load itself. If for any particular reason any of the lights on the router don't come on, any of these three lights, or they stay yellow, then there's a problem either with your router or your telephone line. Please refer to the manufacturer's recommendation guide or contact your internet service provider to see if your phone line is active.
This is how you set up a wireless router. .
