Step 1: Set up

Find the adaptor that fits your car and MP3 player. There are three different kinds of adaptors.
One type plugs into your cigarette lighter or power plug. There is also a battery powered adaptor and one that attaches to your cassette player.

Step 2: Tune time

If you have the cassette player adapter, plug it into MP3 and the cassette adapter into your car's tape player. You should be able to play your MP3 music through your car stereo.
On some newer cars, to play music directly through your car stereo, you have two options.
If you are using the cigarette lighter/power port, plug one end into your MP3 player. Tune your car stereo to an empty station and program that station into your adapter.
If you have the battery power adapter, plug it into your MP3 player. Tune your car stereo to an empty station and program that station into your adapter.

    no...the tape one can work with just about any mp3 player with a headphone attachment. and the battery powered one that goes through the headphone as well. its just like back in the 'old' days when using a cd player in a car.
