How To Host A Murder Mystery Party: A professional event planner walks you through the steps involved in planning this kind of elaborate theme party. It's easier than you might think.

Hi. My name's Amy and I'm a wedding and event planner. I have planned events, mainly specializing in weddings.

However, I have planned events from Christmas to corporate, and I'm going to give you some tips that I hope will help for you to plan events in the future. I'm going to talk to you about how to plan a Murder Mystery Party. It might be a good idea to organize the location.

Either you could do this at home or you could do this at a venue. If you are going to go for a venue, try to find somewhere suitable, maybe a quirky country house, somewhere a little bit eerie, to add to the atmosphere. You will need to create a storyline for your guests to follow.

You could either organize for a company to do this, or you could organize this yourself. There are several internet sites that will be able to help you in planning this. With a company, there are some companies that will have your guests get involved in the action on the evening, and others that will provide the action around your guests, so you need to decide what you would prefer to do.

If you are going to have your guests involved in the action, you might want to pre-allocate them characters to play, and send these out with your invites. This way, guests can arrive dressed up as their characters and really become the character that you've given them. This will add a little bit more fun to the evening.

You will need to organize who is going to be the murderer, and also organize the victim and story behind the murder of the victim. You will need to make sure that nobody is aware of the murderer, so this might be worth having a company, so that they can coordinate who that will be, so that even yourself can be a part of the guessing game of who the murderer is. It's your party as well, so you want to make sure that you can be fully involved in guessing the clues.

This is quite a formal event, so it might be worth organizing this over a formal sit-down dinner. This way, discussions can be had whilst people are eating, and action can happen between the courses. You will need to speak to the venue that you are organizing this with, to make sure that they know that there will be gaps in between each course, for the action to take place.

It might be nice to organize the dress up for a theme, maybe 1950's, and to have some classical eerie music playing in the background, just to add to the evening's entertainment. I hope this has helped in planning a murder mystery party.
