In this video, I'm going to show you how to house dance, and house dance isn't just about a few steps. It's about feeling the music so when you try this at home, you stick some music on, you really got to get into the music and get lost in it. There are all different types of house dance moves that you can do, but I'm going to show you the basic stance today, a jack, which is the most common house dance move, and a shuffle as well.

So, the stance is real simple, imagine like you're driving a car, and you're holding onto the steering wheel. Keep your back up straight, so whenever you are doing a move and it's just a bounce, you've got your arms in the same position, but they're loose and just grooving with the music. So, imagine you got your iPod on, you're listening to your favorite song, okay, so you try and keep your back up straight, now the jack, you're taking your upper body and chucking it forwards with this stance as well and pushing it up, bring it back to where you were, and then bending your knees, and coming back.

Okay, and there are different variations, so if you want to do it with knees pushing out or to the side, you can. So, the basic one would be, jack forward, middle, bend your knees. Then when you're with the music, it's like you're grooving with the song.

You can do the same, as you come down pushing your knees out, so you go forward knees, forward knees, forward knees. And you can do the same to the side, so you could go forward side, forward side, or in reverse, you could go forward bend, forward bend. So, that is your jack, then my favorite house dance move, the shuffle.

Now, there are three parts to it. On both sides, now, you're going to hop on your left foot with your right foot out, pushing your hip to the right. It feels a bit awkward, try and keep your balance on your left.

Then, you're going to move to the right, and swap your feet across. Swapping to the other hip, it's important that you move slightly to the right. Then, you're going to tuck this left foot behind, your hands are going to come around.

You're going to bend down, and jump this way at the same time. Then, there is a pose down, to the right. So if I repeat that, the shuffle is hip and leg to the right, swap, keep moving to the right though, and then tuck, keep everything to the right though, keep moving, and then you can repeat to the left.

You could go left hip, right hip, down. Now, if you keep your hands in that stance that I showed you at the beginning, we can put all that together and pretty much keep your arms swinging with the move. So, you go right left down, left right down, right left down.

So, to summarize, house dance, you know it's got tons of moves but the three we did today, the first is the stance, don't forget driving position, and keep these slightly loose so when you're grooving the bounce with you. Second move is the jack, and you can do it in all different directions. But the idea is you move forward with your upper body, back to the middle, bend down with a bit of knees, or to the sides.

And the last move we did was the shuffle, which has got three parts to it. Make sure you're pushing your hips out with each kick that you do. You've got two kicks, and step behind, or hop behind, and make sure that you keep traveling the way you're going, so each step has got three jumps to the side.

And that is how to house dance. .
