How To Ice Skate

This video enables to learn the preliminary steps of how to skate. This video makes it easy to practice first and then step in the ice skates which reduces the risk of accidents and increase the level of smooth skating for a beginner.

The first step we are going to learn is how to step on the ice safely and also making sure we can walk on the ice properly. We are also looking at the very important safety aspect, stepping sideways, not stepping on feet facing front because we will slip over as barrier is on the back, potentially smashing your head. So, we are going to learn to connect things before we step on the ice.

So, the one is to step on ice sideways and make sure, safety, your hand is placed on the barrier so that you don't fall over, this is for the beginners. So keep your feet in V position. It's very important for balance and your hand is placed on the barrier as you are going to step in on the sideways.

From there, we are going to do the penguin steps. Guys, when you have stepped away from barrier, it's very important to place arms out in front of you as your feet is in good V shape in order to do the penguin steps, okay. Then what you going to do from there is to take couple of steps having arms in front and couple of steps forwards in the penguin position like this, and getting back the other way by keeping hands up, keeping them up is very very important to have your knees slightly bent and relaxed in the knees, that's where you actually start to glide and it's very important, your sense of balance over the skate.

If you have straight knees, potentially you can rock back, forth and sideways. If you bend knees, you can solidify all of your body weight over the skate where it needs to be and it also makes sure you don't fall over as much as we would normally, Okay. That's how you learn how to skate in basic level.
