Here are some tips on how to improve your running, and by this, I mean how to improve your running technique. One's running technique is based largely on their natural bio mechanics. To make the most of these, you want to be doing some general and specific stretching exercises regularly so that your muscular system is as strong as it can be and needs to be for the running that you'll be doing with it.

In addition to some general conditioning exercises, there is also a range of technical running points that you need to think about. These cover a whole range of things, ranging from having a relaxed jaw, top of your body, to how fast your feet hit the ground, at the lower end, and the speed of movement from when your feet hit the ground to when they propel you forward again. Improve things like core strength, core stability, balance, coordination, how you use your arms, making sure that there is very little waste of energy, nothing going laterally.

Minimum waste of energy, but all of the energy you do use is used to propel you forward. It is quite a technically complex process. It's often not the most exciting part of running training, and many runners neglect it, but many of the best runners will dedicate some time in their training to technical training.

You want to focus on doing these drills in fairly short concentrated bursts, maybe eight seconds. Eight seconds is the kind of duration whereby you'll do it to the best of your technique at that time, and if you continue doing it for much longer, there will be some fatigue in that drill and your form will deteriorate. A technical drill is just the kind of thing where an external coach, who's got the knowledge and the objective extra eye, will go to observe you, point out the flaws in your technique, and give you advice on what specifically you might be thinking about doing to gradually improve that technique, and that will overall, help you to improve your running technique. .
