How To Install A Linksys Wirless Router

Hi, I'm Danny from PC Paramedics and today I will be showing you how to install a Linksys router. Okay, once unpacked the router comes in two different stages. Power, lead, micro-filter and ethernet cable.

These will slot into the connections onto the back. Now, on this particular Linksys model of router these are all labeled and are fairly straight forward. Okay, so the ethernet will go into the ethernet hole.

It will only go one way up and you will hear it click in. The other end of the ethernet cable will go into your computer. Power will go into the main socket, and again, go into the power socket.

You are then given the on and off button which needs to be set to "on". The micro-filter and RJ-11 board band lead clips into the modem point onto the micro-filter. And the back of the modem lead will go into the ADSL socket.

Your micro-filter will then need to go into a BT wall socket, preferably at the main BT point which is generally on houses near the front door. Once they're all in you are now ready to go. Power on the device with the switch on the back.

Wait for the lights to stop flashing and go solid onto the front. Then access it via the CD given to you with the router. That's how to install a linksys wireless router.
