How To Join Facebook

Facebook is one of the best ways you can keep in touch with your friends and relatives and sometimes you can meet online a friend that you have not met for a long, long time.

Now, to join Facebook, go to the Facebook dot com homepage and you'll see the sign up form on the right hand side of the page. Put in your first name, your surname, your email address and they'll ask you to do it again. The reason to doing that is it wants to make sure that you're not spammer.

Put in your password. I'd recommend making your password a mixture of letters and numbers so it's more secure. Don't worry if you forget your password because Facebook can always send it out to you by email if you forget it.

Select your sex and your birth date, and again, these are security features, just to make sure that you're not a spammer. The final security feature is something will capture where you have to type in the letters that are shown in the screen. Again, it's to make sure you're not a spammer.

Now if it's not clear, don't worry about it, just ask for some different words to type in, keep on trying different words and here we go. So, just type those words in. So you are signed up for your Facebook account and straight away, Facebook is giving you the option to add friends.

Now, if you're not ready to add friends, don't worry, you can come back to this stage later. What they'll do is log you in if you get into your email and it will give you a few options of email services you can go to. Don't want to do that, just click, skip this step.

Now, Facebook really doesn't want you to add in friends straight away so it will keep trying to tell you about people you can connect to by putting in some more information about yourself so it will ask you to do the basics of your profile, your high school, college, employer, etc. Again, don't worry if you don't have time to put that in, just click 'skip' and finally it will ask you to upload your profile picture. Now, this is really important because, for example, there could be 50 people who have got the same name as you, but if you've got a profile picture, that will differentiate you from everybody else.

There are 2 ways you can put the photo in. You can either upload the photo from your computer or if you have a webcam in your computer, you can add a photo there and then. Again, if you don't have time, you can click on 'skip' and that will take you straight through to your account.

Now, you have signed up and so you can start using Facebook. .
