So, when you're doing this, when you're practicing boxing, always respect your sparring partner or your training partner. So, to demonstrate a few defences first of all, if I can just use Enzo, so in my set position here, first of all, I'm going to go through a defence from him throwing a jab to me. So, he's going to throw his lead hand which is his jabbing hand towards my head and I'm going to block with my rear hand.

So, from this position jab, and I'll block. So, I'll turn my hand as he jabs. I'll literally palm his block away.

I don't move my head away from him. I keep my head there. The jab comes in and I'll block.

Okay, moving on to the cross, a defence from the cross. So, he's going to throw his rear hand towards my head again. I'm going to parry, outside parry this is called, with this part of my glove here away from me.

So as he throws his cross, I parry moving his body weight away from me. Again. Parry from the cross.

One more time, parry. Cross there. So, that's the defences for the straight punches.

Defences from the hook and uppercut. If Enzo gets into his set position, he's going to use a lead hand hook. As he hooks toward my head here, I'm going to block, keeping this hand up.

The actual glove touching your head here, again, there, blocking his hook. Again, blocking the hook. Again, blocking there.

Okay, and the last one I'm going to defend against the uppercut with the rear hand, so Enzo's going to throw his uppercut towards me here. With my lead hand. Uppercut.

There. Pushing it back down. Again, uppercut.

There. One more time. Uppercut, using the palm of my hand pushing his hand down.

That's how to do boxing self-defences. .
