Cats are great fun and make good companions. Cats are easily house trained, naturally clean, playful, require little grooming or training, and usually limited veterinary care.
Today, I am going to teach you about how to litter train your cat. It should be a simple process but most of us find difficult in understanding cats' behavior. Most cats will train themselves to use a litter box and some don't.
Make sure that the box position, size and model are good, suited for the cat. There are many types of trays .Cats don't share their items with other cats so if you have more than one cat, you should have separate trays for them.
Some cats are shy type. For them, you should use covered litter trays. As I said earlier, there are many different types of litter trays.
Many cats don't share the same type of tray. Cats like privacy, so make sure you place the litter tray in a quiet & private spot. They also don't like toileting near their food bowls.
It is important to make sure their litter trays are scooped at least once a day & regularly changed. Failure to do so may result in your cat refusing to use the litter tray. The litter box must be cleaned daily.
The old litter must be discarded and replaced with about 1 1/2 inches of fresh litter. Rinse the litter box thoroughly with water. Adding a little vinegar or lemon juice to the water will help neutralize the odor of the cat's urine.
Try using pet fresh product for cleaning the tray that removes all the smells. Make sure of the trays position, color, type, cleanliness that helps to litter train you cat. .
