How To Load A Dishwasher For The Best Results
If your thoughts you just threw it all in and switched it on you were wrong. Our Molly Maids expert shows us how to get the best results. Watch the video to see how to Load a Dishwasher for the Best Results.
Step 1: You will need
Step 2: Add the cleaning products
Open the salt reserve. This can be found at the bottom of your dishwasher. Fill it up with the dishwasher salt.
Open the rinse aid compartment. It may be fitted with a dial, this indicates the water hardness level. Set this to the appropriate number for your area. Fill this up with rinse aid and close. Now add the detergent tablets to the right compartment.
Step 3: The upper rack
This is designed for glasses and cups. Put them in upside-down to allow the water jets to reach inside.
Take your time to ensure they are sitting comfortably and not liable to topple over and break.
Step 4: The lower rack
Use the bottom rack for the larger items such as plates and bowls. Give them a rinse first if any food is left. Don't overload. If bowls are stacked on top of each other they will not be cleaned efficiently. Place cutlery and utensils in the plastic holder.
Step 5: What not to load
Don't put in any long objects that may get caught in the washing mechanisms.
Also avoid loading delicate glassware, which easily breaks, or patterned china. The design could begin to fade and rub away.
Step 6: Switch on
Set your dishwasher to the correct temperature. Close the door and leave it to do it's job.
Tips & Comments
After working in home safety for many years I would not suggest loading cutlery shown. Fork tines and knife tips can injure whoever is unloading as well as piercing rubber/plastic gloves. Also many people don't wear gloves thereby when unloading contaminate the cutlery as they - handle the spoon, tines and knives. I would suggest loading forks, spoons and knife tips in the down position.
You don't boil a kettle silly you boil water.
If you put bowls on the bottom you can't put anything above them on the top rack because they block the spray.
thats a sweet dishwasher
Not all dishwashers need to have salt put in. If you have a water softener, salt is not needed. In terms of adding salt or how to change the amount added by the machine, refer to your manufacturers instructions. For modern dishwashers with push buttons and some kind of display (individual lights or whatever), you may have to press a combination of buttons on the control panel
As manufacturers explain, the soup bowls are placed at an incline on the top rack.
The dishwasher wasn't even full in she ran it. A waste of energy and water.
Not very informative at all. She did not mention that plastics should not be placed in the hottest part of the dishwasher, the bottom shelf. Also, one should check that objects do not get in the way of water rotators once the machine is loaded! When the washing is done, leave the dishes in for at least 30 mins to dry properly. Many people I know people open the machine immediately when done and pull out the trays to air dry. This weaken the tray rails over time and wet cold dishes take longer to dry than hot ones.
Pointless video. If you don't know how to do this already, you shouldn't be allowed in the kitchen in the first place. What's next ? "How to boil a kettle" ?
