How To Look Younger With Makeup
This step-by-step tutorial demonstrates how you can diminish the appearance of aging with a few simple makeup tricks. Watch this video and learn the techniques of achieving a flawless, youthful look.
The products that I'm going to use today are all widely available, and I'm going to start with a moisturiser by Elemis, which is Pro Collagen Marine Cream which is very light, not too heavy, and that will act as a start for her makeup look. So, I put some on my hand the lotion and dot around Sues face and blend in. It's really important to moisturise your skin before applying makeup, as this will act as a barrier and also as a good base so that your makeup will look natural, flawless, and radiant.
I'm also going to use Clarins Super Restorative Foundation which has got an SPF 15 in it, which is really useful for anti-aging, so we don't catch the sun's rays to damage the skin. Put a blob on your hand like that, and I'm going to choose a foundation brush, literally coat the brush and apply on the cheeks and blend downwards, and the reason why we blend downwards is so that you go with the natural hairs on the skin. Otherwise, if you are going up, the hairs would be sticking up, so you want to go downwards and make sure that your foundation looks seamless, and the way to check if it is the correct colour is to apply initially on there and if it blends in and looks completely invisible, then that is your correct shade.
So, literally just applying the foundation like that, it is nice and quick. You will see that the eyelids look slightly pink but I'm going to address that bit now with a concealer, and this is one of my favourite tools in my kit which is my Clinique Airbrush Concealer in Light. Pulling my magic wand, I apply it in the inner corner, under the eyes and blend, it takes away the redness, and blend and blend and blend, the most important thing is the blending, and also on the eyelid, and that will take away any pinkness and redness, and also act as a makeup base to keep your makeup on for the day.
So, there is a big difference between both eyes, you can see that that one looks a lot less pink. And just put some there, take that away. When you are blending your concealer, use your ring finger, and that has a light, much, much lighter touch.
There we go. And that literally was two minutes, it is nice and quick. I like to go around the mouth as well, just to ensure that the lipstick will stay put.
Okay, now I'm going to set the makeup. I'm using Lucidity Estee Lauder Translucent. I have got my nice big fluffy brush that I'm going to apply the powder.
Just make sure you tap it on, put some on the lid, tap off the excess because I don't want a powdered, heavily powdered look and just brush over the skin. This will also help set the makeup and provide a nice, fresh complexion. So, pop it on there as well.
And that's that. Again, brush downwards on the face, and some pop there, and you can see there is a big, big difference, the skin looks much matter without looking so dead, this is a light-diffusing foundation, and just brush over the skin, and there we have it; we have flawless foundation for a younger looking skin. There, okay, now I'm going to apply the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch product.
This is fabulous, you don't need much of it, it comes in a little pot, and you literally dab it on any open pores, you can use it around the eye area, and it literally fills in any fine lines that you may have. You can use it, as I said, around the eyes, on any fine lines. So, just dab it on the forehead like so.
All ages can use this as well, so whether you are in your twenties, thirties, fifties, sixties, even seventies. In fact, I have used this product on a lady in her sixties, she had vertical lines around her mouth, and they literally did disappear with this product. So, it is fabulous.
So just tap that on there, put some on the lips, and there we are. Less is more with this; you can always build up to get a perfect finish. So, we have done that.
