How To Lose Thigh Fat
An experienced personal trainer explains the basics of weight loss, with an emphasis on compound training, an exercise technique effective for fat burning.
If you want to lose fat around your thighs, there are a few things you can do. A fair thing to bear in mind though, is a lot of our muscle is in our legs, so you may have naturally quite muscular legs. You can make them look better, but they're never going to be really, really small if you're naturally quite big.
It's always best to stay roughly within your body shape, so if you're quite a chunky person, to have a goal of being really, really tiny thighs is not very realistic or healthy one to achieve. But assuming you do want to lose a little bit around your legs, you can definitely do this. Have a look at your nutrition.
Have good, clean food six days a week and do what you want for one day a week and that should improve things, and training. If you train effectively, that means doing things you enjoy that get your heart rate up, from sports, to dancing, gym classes - all of that will help. Another tip is to do resistance training.
Now, when you're doing resistance training, I always recommend doing compound training. Compound training is when you do more than one muscle group at a time. So rather than just doing just triceps, or just forearms, or just calves, do exercises which mix them all in.
It's much better for fat burning. Good examples of this are press ups, bench press, lap pull-down, pull-ups, bent over rows, squats, lunges. All of these are compound exercises.
It's a much better use of your time, and makes bigger difference. So overall, look at nutrition, look at your training, make sure your goals are realistic, and you can definitely see a difference around your legs in no time at all.
