Because our thinking is changing completely and if what worked - what you've learned previously worked, you wouldn't need to be losing weight now. Yo-yo dieting has been a thing of the last 20 years. So let's focus on how to lose it, how to keep it off, and that really is about starting to focus on sugar, and your sugar intake, instead of calories and fats.
So, forget low-fat diets, forget overly counting calories, and focus on eliminating sugar from your diet. To lose weight quickly, you want to have a weeklong program where you have no sugar. The only carbohydrate you will have will be from vegetable and salad sources.
So, that means no fruit, no bread, no potatoes, no cakes, no sweets, no alcohol, nothing, no milk, nothing that has any sugar in it. That really switches on your metabolism to, kind of, help you burn fat, rebalance your sugar levels, eliminate a lot of food intolerances. It does lots of cool things that are going to get your body working in the right way in order to lose weight.
And then, you're going to, kind of, go on a prolonged period of, you know, low sugar, low carbohydrate diet. So that's minimizing the amount of carbohydrate you eat and really focusing on having a more high-protein diet, eating more meat, more fish, and getting your carbohydrate that your body needs from vegetable sources and from a little bit of fruit, not too much, and also from salad and other things like that. So, this is a completely different way of thinking about eating and dieting than maybe what you're used to, but trust me, it works, and it works well.
It will also help you keep the weight off once you've lost it. On the exercise front, we're going to focus on building up your muscle mass, doing heavier weights. Muscle eats calories, so on the calorie equation, cardiovascular exercise to help them burn off the fat that you've got on your body.
The more exercise you do, that faster you're going to lose weight. That is the simple calorie equation. Mix up interval training, really high-intensity into a burst with rest with some longer-duration cardiovascular to really focus on building your body's ability to become fuel hungry and burn off fat - use fat as a fuel.
And lastly, but also most importantly, get your mindset focusing on making the shifts that you need to really development a thin mindset and shift out of the way the cycle of emotional things that had you overeat and gain weight in the first place. So I'm trying to keep that fairly short and sweet. Cut out the sweets.
