How To Lower Triglycerides
In this Videojug film GP and health writer Dr Ellie Cannon gives you some advice on how to lower your triglycerides. Triglycerides are a fatty substance similar to cholesterol which can increase your chances of suffering from heart disease and stroke.
- Triglyceride levels are affected by your diet. To lower your levels of triglyceride, move onto a low fat, high fibre diet and avoid sugary drinks.
- Eat plenty of oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines. These fish contain high levels of omega-3 which helps to reduce triglyceride levels in the bloodstream.
