How To Make A Bean Stew

Ingredients

  • 100 g dried cannellini beans, soaked overnight
  • 500 g chuck steak, diced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, diced
  • 50 ml white wine
  • 100 g chorizo sausage, chopped
  • 2 tins of tomatoes, blended
  • oil

Method

Soak the beans overnight, then drain and rinse. Bring them to the boil in a pan of water and drain.

Heat oil in a pan until hot, then brown the beef in two batches.

Heat some oil in another pan, add the chopped onion, give them a quick stir, then add the garlic and white wine.

Add the chorizo to the onion, cook for about 1 minute, then add the tinned tomatoes, the beans and the beef.

Cook for 2 hours on a low hob, or covered in the oven at 120-140 degrees Celsius.
