How To Make A Bean Stew
Beef stew with beans is a hearty and warming combination, it is surprisingly easy to make too! Matt Kemp from the Underground Cookery School shows you how in this step by step guide.

Ingredients
- 100 g dried cannellini beans, soaked overnight
- 500 g chuck steak, diced
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, diced
- 50 ml white wine
- 100 g chorizo sausage, chopped
- 2 tins of tomatoes, blended
- oil
Method
Soak the beans overnight, then drain and rinse. Bring them to the boil in a pan of water and drain.
Heat oil in a pan until hot, then brown the beef in two batches.
Heat some oil in another pan, add the chopped onion, give them a quick stir, then add the garlic and white wine.
Add the chorizo to the onion, cook for about 1 minute, then add the tinned tomatoes, the beans and the beef.
Cook for 2 hours on a low hob, or covered in the oven at 120-140 degrees Celsius.
