Ingredients

  • 150 ml coconut cream
  • 500 g beef, diced
  • 2 large potatoes, chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder
  • garam masala
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 sun flower oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • curry leaves
  • water
  • coriander leaves

Method

Put the beef in a bowl, then add the 1 tsp of turmeric, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder and mix well. Leave to marinade for about an hour.

Heat the sunflower oil in a pan, then add the onions. Cook them until they brown nicely. Add 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1 tsp of turmeric and 1 tsp of fennel seeds. Cook, mixing constantly, until you can smell the spices toasting, then add the chillies.

Add the beef to the onions and stir well, then add the chopped potatoes and mix again.

Remove the leaves from one stalk of curry leaves, tear them in half, and drop them in the pan.

Add the coconut cream, salt, a pinch of garam masala and enough water to cover the beef. Give it a good stir, cover and simmer until the beef is cooked. If the gravy is too thin you can mash a few of the potatoes.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
