Step 1: You will need

  • 25 ml Cointreau
  • 25 ml white crème de cacao
  • 10 ml cherry brandy
  • 25 ml light rum
  • 1 angostura bitters
  • 25 ml grapefruit juice
  • Some ice cubes
  • 1 shot measure
  • 1 martini glass
  • 1 mixing glass
  • 1 barspoon or stirrer
  • 1 strainer

Step 2: Prepare the cocktail

For a stir and strain cocktail we use a mixing glass.

Firstly, half fill it with ice cubes.

Then measure out 25 millilitres or a splash of Cointreau and pour it over the ice.

Add 25 millilitres, another splash, this time of white crème de cacao.

Next pour in a dash of cherry brandy.

Follow this with a splash of light rum.

Add one drop of angostura bitters.

Then measure out 25 millilitres or a splash of grapefruit juice.

Now stir well with a bar spoon or stirrer. This chills the ingredients.

Then attach a strainer to the mixing glass. If you don't have one a sieve will suffice.

Step 3: Present your cocktail

Simply strain the cocktail into your martini glass and enjoy!
