Step 1: You will need.

  • 50 ml vodka
  • 25 ml blue Curacao
  • 100 ml lemonade
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • 1 orange slice
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 shot measure
  • 1 highball glass
  • 1 long-handled bar spoon or cocktail stirrer

Step 2: Prepare the highball glass.

Begin by filling the highball glass almost to the top with ice cubes.

Step 3: Add the ingredients.

Into the highball glass measure out and add 50ml of vodka and 25ml of Blue Curacao. Finish by topping with lemonade.

Step 4: Stir, garnish and serve.

Using a long-handled bar spoon or cocktail stirrer, stir the cocktail thoroughly. Garnish the side of the glass with a maraschino cherry and enjoy this strong drink poolside for the ultimate in relaxation!

    Blue curacao is often available anywhere that sells liquor. It's essentially just an orange liqueur that has a lot of blue food color in it. There are also blue curacao syrups available which have no alcohol but are orange flavored and have lots of blue food dye. All of the blue curacao brands I've used haven't been all that excitingly orange in flavor but in most recipes the blue curacao is just there for color. Unless you plan to make a lot of blue drinks you can get by (and make a better tasting drink) using a good orange liqueur and blue food dye. (Add the dye a very little at a time to the measured orange liquer to avoid putting too much into the drink.) If you do find and use blue curacao be cautious: It will stain clothes and some counter tops.
