How To Make A Charm Bracelet
Making your own jewellery can be fun and fashionable. Learn the proper tools and techniques in this video to make your own charm bracelet.
In this video, we are going to show you how to make a charm bracelet. What you will need to begin with is some jump rings. I am using oval jump rings but you can also use round jump rings.
You will need a length of chain, the length of your wrist; you will need a clasp and some beads which I have already wrapped. You can see how to wrap the beads in my other videos. But you will also need a pair of needle nose pliers and flat nose pliers.
To connect the beads, first, you begin by taking and holding your jump ring in your square nose or flat nose pliers. Using your needle nose pliers, you open the jump ring, you open it sideways. You thread in one of the beads and you start at the end of the chain, threading the chain.
Close the jump ring, make sure you close the jump ring correctly and do not have any gaps or otherwise the charms will fall out. You might find that it is difficult to get rid of the gaps as you close the jump ring. And the best technique to do that is once the jump ring is open, push the rings together, push the two ends together so that they overlap a little bit and feel a little bit of tension, then you close and line them up.
If you continue with that process, you will end up with a bracelet. The last step is to thread in your clasp. The clasp can be threaded into one of the main ends.
There are a lot of different clasps you can buy. This is called an S clasp or an S hook, and this is threaded into the chain on the back. And before you finalize your bracelet, check it is the correct size.
You can have it very tight or have it loose. Once it's the correct size, if you have extra chain, you can cut the chain with your side cutter pliers. And that is how you make a beaded charm bracelet. .
