How To Make A Crochet Rope
Crochet is a fun and fashionable craft and can be used to make all kinds of gifts and decorations. In this step-by-step video guide, Bee Clinch from Makedomenders shows you how to make a crochet rope.
You Will Need
- 1 stitch marker (or a safety pin)
- 1 crochet hook
Begin with a foundation chain of six chains. Make this into a circle by using a slip stitch. Place the hook through the first chain of the six, put the yarn over, pull it through the first chain and through the loop on the hook, joining the beginning to the end to form a circle. Place your stitch marker through this slip stitch so you know exactly where the first stitch of the round appears.
Then, slip stitch into each of the following chains. Stitch into the top loop of the chain. Make sure you count each stitch so you know how many you have completed. You should now have reached your stitch marker. Take the stitch marker out and place the hook at the stitch temporarily. Take the yarn over and through the stitch, then through the loop on the hook to form the first slip stich of the second round. Mark this with the stitch marker and complete the rest of the six chains in the round.
Continue around in the same way as before, making rounds of six chains each, and the rope will grow gradually. You can continue the rope to any length that you like.
