Fruit smoothies are a healthy and delicious alternative to many store-bought drinks. This three-minute tutorial will teach you how to make a strawberry-apple-banana smoothie that will keep you fit and cool year-round!
How do you make a fruit smoothie? In this demonstration, I'm going to be making a strawberry, apple and banana smoothie. Now, you can use any fruits you like. Banana and strawberry are probably the most popular ones out there.
You can use pears, grapes, you can use absolutely everything. With regards to the apple juice, it's just the base to blend the smoothie in. Again, you can use apple, pineapple, orange juice, you can use grape.
You can use anything you like, even milk. With regards to the strawberries, they're actually frozen, as you can see. It just means then that the smoothie stays cold without having to add any ice.
The banana, probably the riper the banana, the better. If it's a banana, you actually wouldn't want to eat because it's a little bit brown. I'd probably put it in the blender.
It'll just blend up and it will taste fine. I would say that the older the banana, the browner the banana, the sweeter it is. So you may want to add a little bit less apple juice or something else.
We have ice, just in case, but we'll probably not need that because the strawberries are pretty cold. You'll need a blender, and a jug, a cup to serve it in, and maybe a straw. You can get blenders from most places now in the high streets, supermarkets or online.
All you need to do is prepare your fruits. Bananas are great because you don't really need to prepare them, just peel the skin, and pop that in there. Just going to put one in - this will make quite a big drink.
Strawberries, just a taste, or any fruit really, just a taste. Putting a few in there, if you want to put less or you want to put more bananas in there, that's fine. I'm going to add some apple juice.
If you use apple juice or any juice really, I would recommend that you buy pressed juice rather than concentrated. Pressed has a lot more goodness and nutrients, and it usually hasn't been taken out. It's usually not that much more expensive.
Now, when everything's in there, I would recommend making sure the lid is on. It's quite easy to pop off and make a mess everywhere. Now, this blender has a timer of about 15-20 seconds, so it'll turn off automatically.
Yours at home, you may just have to turn it off manually. So I'll just turn this on now. There you go, that's done.
And if you find it's a little bit thin, you can always add more fruits or bananas, anything like that, but banana is quite a good way of thickening up a smoothie. If it's too thick, add a little more juice and give it another blend. Okay, so there you go, there are strawberries and bananas in there.
As I said, bananas are often used in smoothies, great way of thickening them up and a great recourse of potassium fibres. Okay I'm going to put the lid on there. As I said, it's pretty cold because you've used frozen fruits.
And that's how you make a fruit smoothie. .
