How To Make A Half-Doublecrochet Stitch
VideoJug user Craft Mastery demonstrates to VideoJug users how to make a half-double crochet stitch, also known at the half treblecrochet stitch in the UK. It's actually the same crochet stitch, so learn how to perform it here.
Step 1: Half-Triple Stitch
I am going to demonstrate how to do a half triple stitch on a link of chain.
You’re going to start with putting a loop around your hook, and working into the third stitch; the third chain of your chain.
Pulling one loop through and then pulling another loop around your hook and through all the loops on your hook.
One over your hook into your chain, one loop through, and working all loops all at the same time.
This is a half triple, and is worked with a combination of stitches. Always pull through all three loops working to the end of your chain.
Step 2: Looping
When you’ve come and looped your last half triple in your last chain, you’re going to turn your workinto two chains which will stand as your first stitch.
And then you’re going to work with the first chain and you’re going to work under the next two loops, again pulling through all loops as we go along.
Underneath, pull the loop through all the loops. Underneath, pull the loop through and working through all loops. This you can see gives you a slumpy highest stitch than the double crochet.
