How to make a Haunted House Game

Step 1:
-
You will need
-
Step 2:
-
Draw the house
-
Use a silver pen to draw the shape of a house on a piece of black A4 card. The house should fill the card but leave some space at the sides and at the top for the sky. Use a ruler to get very straight lines. Add a brick pattern on the chimney and any other detail you like.
-
Step 3:
-
Cut out
-
Carefully cut out your house with some scissors. You may need an adult to help you with this.
-
Step 4:
-
Glue
-
Now stick your cut out house on a piece of blue A4 card. This will become the night sky. Turn the house over and put some glue around the edges and some in the middle. Turn it back over. Make sure the bottom of your house meets the bottom of the blue card and press down firmly.
-
Step 5:
-
Make the windows
-
Take another piece of blue card. Use a black felt tip pen to draw 3 lines going down the page, a ruler's width apart. Then draw 3 more lines across the lines you have already drawn, again a ruler's width apart. You will now have a grid pattern. Cut along the lines to make 9 squares that are all the same size. On each square, draw one line down the middle and 2 lines going across. You now have 9 windows. Stick them to your house in 3 rows of 3 windows.
-
Step 6:
-
Pumpkins
-
To make sure your pumpkins are small enough to fit in your windows, cut a square of orange card that is slightly smaller than the windows. Draw a pumpkin on the orange card with a black felt tip pen and add a scary face. Cut out and use as a template to draw four more pumpkins, and cut them out as well.
-
Step 7:
-
Ghosts
-
Draw a ghost on some white card with a black felt tip pen. Again make it just big enough to fit your windows. Cut around the outline with some scissors and use this first ghost as a template to draw and cut out four more, so you have five in total. These ghosts, and the pumpkins you made earlier, are your counters.
-
Step 8:
-
The sky
-
Finally, add a few stars and a moon to your sky with a silver pen.
-
Step 9:
-
Play
-
Your game is ready to play! Grab a friend and play using the same rules as noughts and crosses. The first person to get a row of three pumpkins or three ghosts wins!
