Step 1: You will need…
- 75 ml dark rum
- 50 ml pineapple juice
- 1 tsp caster sugar
- 120 ml soda or carbonated water
- Ice cubes
- 1 shaker
- 1 strainer (if the shaker doesn't include one)
- 1 collins glass
- 1 barspoon or stirrer
Step 2: Prepare
Begin by filling the cocktail shaker half full with ice cubes.
Pour 75ml of dark rum into the shaker.
Pour 45ml of pineapple juice into the shaker.
Finally, add a teaspoon of caster sugar into the shaker.
Ensure that the lid is secure on the shaker and shake vigorously.
Add ice to the collins glass, almost to the brim.
Secure a strainer over the shaker and pour the cocktail into the collins glass.
Add 125ml of soda water into the collins glass and, using a barspoon or stirrer, stir well.
Step 3: Serve.
The Jamaican fizz cocktail can be used to soothe those everyday troubles away - Jamaican style.
