How To Make A Jumping Mouse Out Of A Balloon

Balloon Modelling: Make A Jumping Mouse. Follow Jelly Kelly's instructions for how to make a mouse out of a balloon that will jump when you pull its tail!

Step 1: You will need

  • a 260Q balloon
  • a professional pump
  • permanent marker pens

Step 2: Blow up

Place the lip of a 260Q balloon over the nib of your pump. Blow it up It doesn't matter what size you inflate it but make sure you leave a long tail.

Step 3: Tie off

Loop the lip around your fingers, then tuck it through the loop. Gently pull and release to form the knot.

Step 4: Mouse's head

Twist the balloon about a third of the way along to make the mouse's head.

Step 5: Ears

Make 2 small bubbles next to the first, twisting in the same direction. Twist these together to lock them off, creating two equal sized ears.

Step 6: Eyes and mouth

Next, draw two goggly eyes and a mouth on your mouse's face.

Step 7: Jump

Pull the tail and release to make the mouse spring into action.
